Work
After graduating from Newcastle in film and photography I spent my 20s focus pulling and operating on Films, Drama, Documentary, Comedy and Commercials. I felt drawn to the power of naturalism in cinematography, and for much of my early career dedicated my creative energies to shooting documentary films and series. Since 2000 I have shot films in every genre from observational and authored to oral testimony and the arts. I’ve worked with some of the most talented and award winning filmmakers in the business, in the UK and all over the world.
Recently, I returned to shooting drama working as the Director of Photography on a number of scripted projects, including Gentleman Jack, Happy Valley and The Tourist.
I was nominated for a Bafta in 2018 for Best Photography and Lighting in Fiction for BBC Two’s Against the Law, Directed by Fergus O’Brien.
I live in London with my family.
